01 Project Challenges

The Xinjiang Urumqi 120 MW photovoltaic power station project is located in the Gobi Desert region at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. Extreme temperature differences and complex geological conditions coexist here, posing multiple challenges to the construction of photovoltaic foundations.

The project area is covered by a thick layer of gravel, beneath which lies a layer of extremely strong granite. The construction team needs to complete drilling operations for over 40,000 photovoltaic pile foundation holes on a site exceeding 500 hectares.

Traditional drilling rigs face challenges in this terrain, including difficulty in movement and low efficiency, with frequent mechanical failures causing significant delays in construction. The project team urgently needed a specialized piece of equipment that could adapt to the Gobi Desert terrain, offer high drilling efficiency, and be easy to maintain.

02 Technical Solution

To address the project's specific needs, we provided the YRSD-618GF split-type photovoltaic drilling rig system solution. This rig features a modular, split design, allowing for separate transport of the main unit and air compressor, perfectly solving the equipment transportation difficulties in the Gobi Desert region.

The equipment configuration was specifically optimized for the local rock strata characteristics: it is equipped with a YRWSA-24/22 air compressor, providing strong and stable compressed air; and features an 8-inch high-pressure impactor and a 245mm high-pressure drill bit, specifically designed for hard granite layers.

Notably, we equipped the rig with 89mm*3000mm drill rods with a centralizer, ensuring a drilling verticality accuracy of over 99.5% under complex geological conditions, meeting the stringent requirements of photovoltaic bracket installation.

03 Core Equipment Parameters

The following are the detailed technical specifications of the YRSD-618GF split-type photovoltaic drilling rig:

04 Field Performance

During the project trial phase, the YRSD-618GF demonstrated excellent terrain adaptability and drilling stability. The equipment moved freely in Gobi terrain with slopes below 15 degrees, achieving rapid and accurate positioning.

Targeting the specific rock formations of the project, the drilling rig achieved an average drilling speed of 2 meters per minute, outstanding performance among similar equipment. The trial run video clearly demonstrated the entire process of smooth equipment movement, stable drilling, and efficient slag removal.

The on-site engineer specifically pointed out: "The air compressor has a strong and stable airflow; even after 8 hours of continuous operation, the equipment performance showed no significant degradation, fully meeting the demands of high-intensity construction."

05 Customer Feedback and Results

After the successful trial run, the project team highly praised the performance of the YRSD-618GF. The construction manager stated, "This drilling rig solved our two biggest concerns: adaptability to the Gobi Desert terrain and drilling efficiency in granite."

Based on its excellent trial run performance, the customer immediately decided to purchase an additional 12 sets of the same model of photovoltaic drilling rig system to ensure the progress of

After using the YRSD-618GF, the project's pile foundation construction efficiency increased by approximately 40%, and the equipment failure rate decreased to less than 1%, providing a solid guarantee for the project's timely grid connection and power generation.

After the completion of the Xinjiang project, the local photovoltaic power station spreads across the Gobi Desert like a silver sea.

In the field of photovoltaic pile foundation drilling, adaptability to complex terrain and efficient handling of hard rock strata are the two core values of the equipment. The performance of the YRSD-618GF split-type photovoltaic drilling rig in the Urumqi project proves that it was designed to meet these challenges.

The repeat order for 12 sets of equipment not only reflects the customer's recognition of our products but also directly reflects the market's demand for high-efficiency, high-reliability photovoltaic construction equipment.
